songs from the heart
From early childhood, Elaine knew she wanted to play guitar. After getting her first “real” guitar when she was 11, she joined a folk group in middle school, called Wings of the Wind. Post high school, she continued to write songs and play guitar. The demands of having a career and later, starting a family made it hard to continue to write and practice. She ended up tabling her musical ambitions for about twenty years. Then just before after her 50th birthday, she did her first "open mic" at the Arabica in Cleveland Hts. It wasn’t long before she started playing her first solo gigs meeting up with a whole new world of Cleveland and Akron performing songwriters, like herself. It wasn’t long before she began writing songs again after a 20-year hiatus. Her new songs are focused on the maturing issues women over age 50 face. She hopes to keep pushing the envelope and growing both as a songwriter and performer as well.
